OK I have to admit while I still maintain the grovers are a great budget price tuner, I had the oppurtunity to have waverley and grover side by side today, and the waverleys are awesome !!! |

I wish they wern't so darned expensive though. But you do get what you pay for. I've yet to buy a set, but I might put some on my grand-daughters guitar. |

I've used 2 sets of Waverlys so far. I will continue to use them because they're just that much better. Maybe someone could inquire about a group buy? |

Hi All... As you know a couple of weeks ago I started a thread about my awfull Grover open back tuners and how they lacked any performance. Well, I too sent back the Grovers for a refund and bought a set of Waverly's. What a difference. Now I'm hooked on their fine quality. Play on!!!! Regards, Walter

We have some talanted craftsman here. Would it be that hard to design/make some quality tuners? How about a group design/build/manufacture on tuners? |

If it were easy to make super high quality tuners, than everybody would be doing it. I suspect that the engineering that goes into Waverleys is very sophisticated. Steve Spodaryk needed some very special tuners for a couple of instruments that he recently built and the best approach for him was to take some Waverleys and modify them. Starting from scratch would have bee way too tough. Some guys do go down that road, however, and get very good results. There's a guy in England (His name escapes me at the moment) that makes very high tech tuners and charges a lot for them. Those who have tried them, love them. Trying to undercut Waverley on price sounds like a non-starter. |

Another vote for the Waverly's. I love them. I don't mind if they are a little expensive as long as the quality is so high. The basic Waverly's are not break the bank expensive, it is only when you get into the fancy snakewood, black pearl, or engraved buttons that the price skyrockets. |

if the open Waverleys will fit in the holes with no modifications Direct relacement. You can use the Grover bushings with the Waves(they actually fit better...) |

[/QUOTE] Rodger's tuners. I've got a set that my wife bought me for my 50th birthday (five years ago). I haven't built a guitar yet good enough to justify using them, will I ever?. Oh, by the way they cost $1000! Are they worth it, yes. (I actually wanted her to buy me Halle Berry but you know wives )

I love the Waverlys. After 2 set of open back Sta tite Grovers broke, I returned them all. All I use is Waverly now. If the customer doesn't want them , then maybe they should have someone else build their guitar. I guess you get what you pay for. Andy |
